Movement Archery: The Natures of Pertnering

"Movement Archery: The Natures of Partnering"

- a workshop for movement practitioners of any background and age -

If dancing alone is a relationship with imagination, dancing with a partner is a relationship with reality. We believe these two skills are fundamental and mutually relevant. However, when one is practiced without consciously searching for its creative connection to the other, the actual benefit is difficult to sense and experience.

Virtuosity and skill emerge when the line between imagination and reality begins to soften. At that point, solo dance and partner dance become inseparable. This inseparability leads to questioning communication and dialogue, opening a field with endless developments and wide potential.

Within this practice, we explore how we read space, the other body, and the space of the other body. This does not necessarily require changing the shapes or forms created by one’s own body, but rather refining perception and response.

Dancing with another person is a constant acknowledgment of the unknown. This is not an abstract or spiritual idea, but a technical and concrete understanding of partnering and collaboration through movement. No matter how developed one’s technique is, space must always be left to re-evaluate the situation and listen to the needs and intentions of the other moving body.

We believe that practicing this approach creates the conditions to apply technique appropriately and, at times, to propose new ideas that have not yet been explored.

About Tom Weksler & Roser Tutusaus (ES)

Performers · Choreographers · Movement Educators

Born in 1989, Tom Weksler began exploring movement at a young age, drawn to gravity, risk, and unpredictability through acrobatics and martial arts. Between 2009 and 2011, he danced and performed as an acrobat in operas and theatre plays. From 2010 to 2014, he toured worldwide with the Inbal Pinto & Avshalom Pollak Dance Company. He later collaborated with Rootlessroot and DOT504 on Collective Loss of Memory, which won Best Performance at Tanec Praha and toured Europe. From 2017 to 2020, he performed with Guy Nader & Maria Campos. In 2021, he was a finalist for Best Dancer of the Year at Spain’s Premios MAX. In 2026, he completed a Master’s degree in Art Direction and Scenography Design at BAU University in Barcelona.

Tom’s career combines strong physical technique with philosophical sensitivity, shaping a movement language deeply rooted in the relationship between body, space, and nature. He is the founder of Movement Archery and a globally acclaimed movement teacher. Movement Archery has been active internationally for over 10 years and has been inspiring movers’ bodies and minds in studios, dojos, gyms, movement facilities, dance schools, and circus academies all over the world.

Born in 1985, Roser Tutusaus began as a rhythmic gymnast and studied music and theater before turning to dance. She trained at Artez Dance Academy (Netherlands), studied journalism at UAB, and space design at UPC-CCCB. Her multidisciplinary background shapes a unique perspective, revealing performers’ inner landscapes and their dialogue with space. She has performed with Anouk van Dijk, Giulio d’Anna, Erik Kaiel, Maria Rovira, Roberto Oliván, and Pere Faura. Her street duet Menar, with Joan Català, won Best Street Performance at the 2016 Catalan Critics’ Awards. From 2014 to 2020, she toured internationally with Guy Nader & Maria Campos. Her work explores fragility and strength, limits and transcendence, shaping movement where friction drives expression. She is also deeply engaged in Movement Archery, contributing as both a teacher and a developer of its pedagogical content, shaping its methodology and practice.

Tom and Roser have been working artistically together since 2018 under the name WONDERGROUND. Together, they have created several movement pieces that toured nationally and internationally and won several awards. They create work for theatre, outdoor, and unconventional spaces. In 2023, they opened their own studio, THE ISLAND, located in the park of Collserola on the outskirts of Barcelona.

3-Day Movement Workshop: the body knows before we understand

Taught by adalisa Mengini

14.11.-16.11.2025

The Body Speaks before we Understand - Adalisa Mengini Workshop

"The Body Knows Before We Understand"

Three Days of Listening, Sensing, Moving

- a workshop for dancers, movers, performers and curious bodies -

A body is more than form. It is memory, rhythm, attention. It listens before it speaks. It knows before it understands.

This workshop is an invitation —to return to the body as source,as question, as language.

Over three days, we will move through landscapes of sensation and relation.

We will draw from Feldenkrais, neurophysiology, improvisation, contact, and composition —as doorways into presence, perception, and poetic action.

We will listen — to weight, to breath, to gravity, to one another. We will move — with curiosity, with precision, with care.

We will compose — from what we find, from what finds us.

A space for shared practice, for exploration, for emergence. A space to be moved, to meet yourself, and to meet others.

A space to grow something real through the body.

Open to dancers, performers, and all those drawn to the intelligence of movement.

Experience is welcome, and so is not knowing.

You are welcome.

Adalisa Mengini Workshop Hamburg - The Body knows before we understand

For the first time, we are thrilled to invite you to this unique gathering of sensing and moving, exploring the subtle intelligence of the body in motion with the wonderful Adalisa Menghini.

This workshop opens a space to rediscover the body as a source of presence, intuition, and expression.

Across three days, we will dive into a multidimensional movement practice that interweaves somatic awareness, improvisation, composition, and relational movement. Inspired by Feldenkrais, neurophysiology, and the poetic depth of embodied listening, this process invites you to move with care, with curiosity, and with clarity.

Whether you are an experienced mover or new to somatic exploration – this workshop welcomes anyone with a deep curiosity for movement, connection, and embodied intelligence.

Her choreographic work has twice been awarded for best direction and choreography in the context of Giocabriga, a genre of popular theatre in Italy.

"Our approach to acrobatics has developed from the urge to look for freedom in movement. It led us to the wonderful paradox between meditation and acrobatics, the attempt to find tranquility in the chaos, to understand whether it is possible to create a practice that is inspired by the eye of the storm. The main goal is to find a movement quality that supports simple actions like walking and running, as well as acrobatic feats without a difference in effort, mental fatigue or structural tension. To do this, we will search for high levels of awareness and precision so the body can react quickly to the changes in skeletal stress, and to maintain flow without unnecessary distractions. In classical acrobatic disciplines – Preparation, Climax and Landing are being treated as completely different aspects while usually one is more important than the other. In "Zen Acrobatics" the practitioner aspires to transform all 3 states into one motion that can ultimately connect to any other type of movement.

Examples for inputs that are used in this learning process are: Sounds of take-offs and landings, alignment in relation to the space, 'Eye -Focus', application of forces, integration of breath, momentum and more."
